The specific qualities of the filament Spectrum Smart ABS include a high impact resistance and relatively high rigidity. An unquestionable advantage is that the material retains its properties at temperatures down to - 40°C. As compared to the standard filament ABS, the “smart” variant demonstrates improved processing parameters which considerably reduce the difficulties which accompany the additive manufacturing using the standard ABS. It is essentially the lower shrinkage and reduced emission of irritant volatiles during processing.

Elements produced by using Spectrum Smart ABS are characterized by:
  • A high impact resistance and rigidity while retaining a relatively high dimensional accuracy,
  • High adhesion between layers and also between the platform and the printed item,
  • High gloss of external surface,
  • The possibility of additional mechanical working such as grinding, drilling, turning, milling etc., and
  • Manufacturing processes enhanced by the improved flowability which facilitates the material extrusion from the printing heads.
Due to the above-mentioned characteristics of the filament Spectrum Smart ABS, you may use the material in a broad range of industrial applications, i.e. manufacture all kinds of enclosures, guards, protectors and other similar items subject to impacts. In addition, the possibility of mechanical treatments allows you to produce items to facilitate and help conduct installations, i.e. handles, rules, gauges etc. The possibility to conduct chemical treatments on Smart ABS provides for extremely smooth surfaces once printed items are exposed to acetone vapours. Hence, items treated as above are used in the industrial design and broadly defined decoration-related industry.
